Waterpark Simulator Post-1.0 Hotfix Train — Patches 1.0.21 to 1.0.30
Official Steam combined patch notes: urgent fixes, multiplayer QoL, and the empty-park verify-files workaround.
Why CayPlay bundled three patch notes
After the 1.0 launch on July 31, 2026 (see Version 1.0 Overview), CayPlay shipped a rapid post-release hotfix train on Steam: 1.0.21 (Saturday), 1.0.28 (Monday), and 1.0.30 (Tuesday). The combined Steam post is titled UPDATE 1.0.30 - Patch Notes and references build 1.0.31 for the notes publication itself. CayPlay said they normally publish notes closer to each build but were busy shipping fixes; they also expect to slow the pace soon, yet these three builds contained urgent corrections and meaningful quality-of-life work worth one consolidated reference. This page lists only official Steam bullets—no invented balance tables. Return to the Updates Hub for the full index.
Empty park after updating? Verify Steam files first
The scariest post-update report is loading a save and seeing an empty park—rides and props missing while the game still launches. CayPlay describes a rare corrupted install file during download, not deleted save data. The player-side fix is Steam file verification, which rechecks local game files and replaces the one that broke. Official steps: Steam verify game files FAQ. CayPlay is working with Steam on the underlying cause. If verification does not help or other glitches persist, walk through Troubleshooting before assuming progress is lost.
Bug fixes across 1.0.21, 1.0.28, and 1.0.30
Paint, snow, and cleanliness: The paint gun now colors guests regardless of which mode it is on (1.0.21). Snow is intentionally not paintable—painting broke the texture even though yellow snow sounded fun (1.0.28). Some slides could start partly dirty (1.0.21). Some items showed as dirty but could not be cleaned (1.0.28). Paint gun painted NPC sync was fixed (1.0.28).
World props and icons: Dumpster collision with trash bags at a specific angle was fixed (1.0.21). Some city buildings failed to grant experience (1.0.28). A 4-star Christmas slide issue was fixed (1.0.28). Entrance glass texture was improved (1.0.30). The popcorn cup now shows the correct icon when held (1.0.30). Rain VFX was corrected (1.0.30).
Staff, guests, and physics: Mafia interaction was improved so lenders should not ignore you (1.0.21). A staff duplication bug was fixed (1.0.30). Water colliders now register hits on staff more reliably regardless of height (1.0.30). A case where senior visitors spawned without gray hair was fixed (1.0.30). Hand swapping animations were corrected (1.0.30).
Audio and weather: Sound no longer breaks on windy days (1.0.21).
Progression, research, and achievements: Achievements that failed to trigger at the correct locations—such as opening a beach park or using the beach zipline—were fixed (1.0.21). Re-check stalled goals in Achievements. Night shift research unlocking too early was fixed (1.0.28). Sandbox unlocks now apply properly for new and old saves (1.0.30)—see Difficulty Modes for how Sandbox fits the wider ruleset.
Improvements you will feel in daily play
UI, ultrawide, and clarity: Better ultrawide UI support landed in 1.0.21. A new UI scaling setting was added in 1.0.21—useful on high-resolution monitors; pair adjustments with PC Controls if menus or prompts feel cramped. Visitor damage outlines are more reliable (1.0.21). Multiplayer player bubbles in the UI were improved, and the host now gets a bubble too (1.0.28).
Museum, wellness, and staff-friendly quests: Museum missions can now be completed by staff as well—you should not need to fire or shove teammates aside (1.0.28). Full cadence and currencies live in Museum and Quests. Wellness missions can be fully completed by everyone in multiplayer (1.0.28).
Multiplayer permissions, PvP, and join tools: The host ticket booth PC permission system was improved so settings can apply to all players—build, destroy, hire staff, open park (1.0.28). A first-time multiplayer popup explains ticket booth PC settings (1.0.30). Throwing items is now treated as PvP in multiplayer and can be disabled by the host (1.0.30). Players joining another host’s park start with a hammer, not a sledgehammer (1.0.30). Role splits and lobby etiquette: Multiplayer Co-op.
Difficulty fairness and camera comfort: The damage multiplier is now the same across all difficulties—no extra penalty for hitting a cheater (1.0.30). Water cannon and zipline cameras now respect invert mouse when that option is enabled (1.0.30).
Saves, quits, and ragdolls: Quit confirmation messages were added so you do not accidentally close without saving (1.0.28). The save system was improved so non-letter characters in names no longer break saves (1.0.30). Ragdoll recovery was improved (1.0.30).
Atmosphere: Weather settings were tuned to reduce the foggy look players reported—more vibrant colors return (1.0.28).
New feature in this hotfix window
UI scaling setting (1.0.21) is the headline new option in this patch cluster—not a content drop like Lazy River, but a real settings addition for readability on varied displays. It does not replace learning build and gate inputs from PC Controls; it makes the HUD easier to read while you do.
Practical checklist after installing
- Update Steam to the latest build in this train (through 1.0.30; notes posted as 1.0.31)
- If your park looks empty, run Steam file verification before deleting saves
- Re-test Beach park and zipline achievements if they stalled pre-patch
- In co-op, review ticket booth PC permissions and whether PvP item throwing should stay off
- Tune UI scaling and confirm invert mouse on zipline and water cannon if cameras felt wrong
- Confirm Sandbox access on older saves if it was locked before 1.0.30
- Skim Version 1.0 Overview if you are returning from launch week—core loops did not change, stability did
How this page ages
Individual hotfix builds may stop mattering once everyone is patched, but the empty-park verify-files workaround, UI scaling, museum staff quest completion, and multiplayer PvP throw toggle change how operators and co-op hosts should behave today. When CayPlay ships Lazy River or larger beats, this page remains the reference for the first post-1.0 stabilization window. Bookmark the Updates Hub for whatever ships next.
