Waterpark Simulator Update 1.0.63 — Build Smarter, Label Better
Official Steam notes from August 21: custom slide naming, injury and painting fixes, and several quality-of-life improvements.
What changed in 1.0.63
The official post published on August 21, 2026 is the newest numbered update covered by this wiki. It focuses on park quality rather than a new attraction: managers can now rename a custom slide after construction, diving injuries are less likely to become accidental fines, Beach surfaces paint more consistently, and persistent Park Events no longer disappear merely because the player saved and left. The update also changes guest satisfaction so excellent scores require sustained performance rather than arriving automatically after a short visit.
The result is a practical polish build for established parks. It does not change Lazy River, housing, pets, or the post-1.0 content roadmap. Use this page for the official change list, then apply the relevant improvements in Custom Slides, Lifeguards, Beach Map Zones, and Special Events.
Custom slide naming
The headline feature allows a custom slide to be named after it is built. This closes an old organization problem: several similar towers could look readable in the world while remaining impossible to identify in a save, screenshot, staff discussion, or multiplayer handoff. Use descriptive names based on route, difficulty, district, or a memorable visual feature.
Good names are short enough to scan. Ocean Spiral South is more useful than Slide 7, while Family Gentle Loop communicates both audience and intensity. In a public co-op lobby, consistent naming prevents a host and visitors from editing or testing different structures. Review the finished Custom Slides guide before changing a long-running layout; renaming improves management, but it does not repair bad geometry.
Safer diving and fair fines
The patch fixes unintended diving-board injuries and fines, including a frame-rate-dependent case. Older saves and different hardware could therefore produce different outcomes even when players performed the same jump. 1.0.63 makes the result more consistent, but it does not turn diving boards into harmless scenery: poor height, shallow landing water, or an unsafe jump path can still create a real rescue or rating event.
The fix also addresses guests injured beyond park limits who could not be reached by lifeguards or medics. When an accident happens, check the full path from board to pool and make sure the landing zone is not partly outside the operational area. Read Lifeguards for rescue priorities and Prestige Builds for test-first board layouts.
Painting, staff, and restock fixes
Every Beach map patch was reviewed so more surfaces accept paint, and the final segment of the 50/50 slide is paintable. The team also checked attractions for places that could not be painted, places where paint would not stick, and places where visitors could become stuck. These are build-quality fixes, not merely visual changes: a reliable paint surface is easier to theme, photograph, route, and maintain.
Staff can still become stuck in the break room in rare edge cases, but 1.0.63 fixes the reported scenario. Restock objects now use a higher limit of 20 before floor copies despawn, reducing visual clutter near busy stands. If stock management is the bottleneck, the operational advice in Food Concessions and Vendor Fix remains more important than a numeric cleanup threshold.
Multiplayer and saved Park Events
Multiplayer ambience now behaves consistently, so host and visitors should hear the same park atmosphere. Building permissions also continue to apply when the phone is used; the phone is a menu route, not a way around host restrictions. A separate issue that allowed non-host players to place blobs is fixed.
Park Events are now saved. If an event notification appears and the player saves or leaves, it will relaunch in the next session instead of silently expiring. This helps completion planning because Special Events no longer punish a clean exit. The Events Page distinguishes repeatable celebrations from limited one-time content and gives the best way to combine them with objectives.
Guest logic and satisfaction balance
Lounger selection received better guest logic, reducing awkward or inactive placement. More importantly, satisfaction is recalibrated for guests who have remained in the park for under two hours and for parks that previously reached 100% too easily despite failures. A perfect score should now communicate that tickets, safety, food, cleanliness, and attractions are working together.
The slide-ragdoll forward force was reduced, and all guns can now be fired by holding the input. The latter is useful for the water gun during a large seagull or cleanup wave, but the Cleaning Loop still recommends water for speed and manual collection for higher-value cleanup work. Use the new hold behavior as an accessibility and input comfort improvement, not as a replacement for good bin placement.
Trading cards and profile items
The same Steam announcement activates 7 trading cards, 6 duck badges, and 3 profile backgrounds featuring Sandy, Sunny, or both. The artwork is based on moments from the game. These profile items do not alter park operations, diamond rating, or the economy. Collect them independently from the Achievements page, which tracks in-game milestones rather than Steam inventory items.
What 1.0.63 does not change
This is a stabilization and quality-of-life update. It does not add Lazy River, new staff tiers beyond the separately published super staff feature, housing, pets, or a second map. It also does not guarantee that every save paints perfectly; inspect the finished object in Sandbox after a major theme change. For the newer Super Staff additions, including Kade and Quackso, read Super Staff Guide.
Recommended update checklist
- Install 1.0.63 and load a long-running save before making irreversible layout changes.
- Rename custom slides using route, district, and difficulty names.
- Retest the highest diving boards and verify lifeguard access to every landing.
- Repaint Beach patches and the final 50/50 segment if an old theme was incomplete.
- Confirm host building permissions still apply through the phone.
- Leave an active Park Event deliberately if the next session should continue it.
- Watch early-guest satisfaction instead of expecting an automatic 100%.
- Use held gun input for large cleanup jobs, then return to the normal mop-and-bin loop.
Patch 1.0.63 rewards tidy park management. The custom-slide label feature organizes existing creativity, while the safety, painting, and persistence fixes make that creativity more dependable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When did Waterpark Simulator 1.0.63 release?
The official Steam post was published on August 21, 2026. It is the latest numbered update covered here as of August 25, 2026.
Can I rename a custom slide in 1.0.63?
Yes. Custom slides can be named after construction, which is useful for organizing complex parks and co-op layouts.
Did 1.0.63 add Lazy River?
No. Lazy River remains a future 1.1 content target, not part of this 1.0.63 polish update.
Why do perfect satisfaction scores require more effort now?
The update recalibrated satisfaction for short visits and reduced cases where a park reached 100% despite failures.
Are Beach map patches fully paintable after 1.0.63?
The notes say all Beach patches were revised to be paintable, and the last piece of the 50/50 slide is also paintable. Test the actual save because object states can vary.
Do Park Events continue after saving and leaving?
Yes. Seen event popups are now saved and relaunch in a later session instead of expiring immediately.
