Weekly Update — Rebind & Free Cam

The first true weekly after the hotfix storm

CayPlay’s Steam post Rebind keys and free cam mode (around August 13, 2026) is the feature weekly they promised after rushing Patch 1.0.50 mid-week. Official notes do not print a new 1.0.5x number in the title—treat the Steam headline as the name and this page as the full bullet list. Two player-requested systems headline the drop: keyboard rebinding under Settings → Controls, and free camera on F1 so you can fly a drone and screenshot the park from anywhere. How-to detail lives on Keybinds and Free Camera. This page is the patch map: what shipped, what it changes for ops, and which guides to reopen.

Baseline 1.0 still launched July 31, 2026 on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S at $12.99. Lazy River remains the voted 1.1 target on Lazy River 1.1 Preview—this weekly is accessibility and park QoL, not a content map.

New features

Control rebind. Keyboard and mouse players can finally remap binds from Settings → Controls. CayPlay called it a post-1.0 accessibility goal. Defaults still matter—learn PC Controls first, then rebind conflicts (jump, throw, build, tablet) after a real park day. Console pads are not the focus of this bullet; keep Console Controls for DualSense and Xbox layouts.

Free camera. Press F1 (default) to take a drone and fly the lot for screenshots. Hide the HUD with H (the weekly also made that hint clearer). Use it after close or in a quiet Sandbox slot—do not F1 out of a live drown alert. Pair showcase shots with Prestige Builds and Themes: Ocean, Aztec, Pirate.

Bug fixes in the same weekly

  • An Aztec slide area that refused paint is now paintable—finish theme kits from Museum Quests.
  • The water pressure gun no longer fires when you swap tools in hand.
  • Queso now pays when pushed, like other bad-trait guests—see Tickets and Cheaters.
  • Guests get injured again when jumping into an empty pool (the empty-pool consequence is back).
  • The ban button no longer displays for non-hosts on the tablet (visual bug after 1.0.50 put bans on the tablet).
  • Night mode cannot activate if you lack the money—overtime is no longer a free click. Read Night Mode and Weather and Money and Loans.
  • Pool colliders improved; a Beach wall hole is fixed.
  • City-map 3-star and 5-star Steam achievements should trigger for players loading a pre-1.0 city save that had been stuck. Completion notes sit in Achievements.

Improvements that change daily loops

Lobby create settings. You can set multiplayer options while creating the lobby, not only after everyone is in. Using research points joined the host restriction list—stop surprise vanity unlocks. Brief the lobby with Multiplayer Co-op.

Spawn caps. Flyers, ducks, posters, the duck gun, and the golden hammer now have simultaneous spawn limits. That cuts toy spam in public sessions.

Golden hammer now fixes anything in one hit. Repair priority in Breakdown Repairs still matters; the gold tool is just faster when you have it.

Banana-peel slip got its own animation. Comedy, not a new win condition.

Pools at 0% show a message: repair before using the plug. Do not stand on an empty basin wondering why water will not return.

Storms have improved lightning. Special event days (big and small) roll a bit more often—reopen Special Events.

Failed board jumps can ragdoll at a low percent. If that ragdoll injures the guest, you are not fined. That pairs with Lifeguards and late-day drown rules from 1.0.43.

UI hide with H is documented more clearly. Visitors no longer spawn in the last hour to enter—closing ops get quieter gates.

Saboteurs take longer to empty a pool and spawn less—a second nerf after 1.0.50’s lower appear chance. Keep Saboteurs bookmarked.

Trash grabbed with your hands can now be tossed in dumpsters. That is a real Cleaning Loop quality-of-life win when you are mid-bag or mid-panic.

How to play the weekly

  1. Update past 1.0.50, then confirm Settings → Controls exists on keyboard.
  2. Rebind only after a default day; write down F1 and H so you do not lose the drone or HUD.
  3. Hosts: set research-spend and other locks in the create-lobby screen.
  4. Night clicks now fail without cash—check the register before overtime.
  5. Repair 0% pools before you plug; one-hit gold hammer if you own it.
  6. Expect more event days and fewer last-hour walk-ins.
  7. City-map prestige hunters: reload the old city save and watch 3★ / 5★ Steam pops.

What this weekly is not

It is not Lazy River. It is not a console-only remap pass. It does not invent housing or pets. Tiny unlisted hotfixes may still land without a post. Official talk stays on Steam and the Waterpark Simulator Discord.

When you finish the notes, open Keybinds and Free Camera for the practice drill, then return to the Updates Hub for the rest of the 1.0 train.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What version number is the rebind and free cam weekly?

Steam titled the post Rebind keys and free cam mode around August 13, 2026, without a 1.0.5x headline. Use that name; it shipped after 1.0.50.

Where do I rebind keyboard keys?

Open Settings → Controls. The weekly added remapping for keyboard and mouse. Learn defaults on the PC Controls page first.

How do I open free camera?

Press F1 by default to fly a drone and take screenshots. Hide the UI with H. Rebind F1 only after you know the default.

Can I turn on night mode for free now?

No. The weekly blocks night mode if you do not have enough money for overtime. Check cash before you click.

Did Saboteurs get weaker again?

Yes. After 1.0.50 lowered spawn chance, this weekly also makes Saboteurs slower to empty a pool and even less common.

What should city-map achievement hunters do?

Load a pre-1.0 city save after this weekly. Steam 3-star and 5-star city achievements should now trigger for stuck slots.
