Official Steam notes from early August 2026: bad-visitor saboteurs, multiplayer host tools, and a calmer weekly patch cadence.

Patch 1.0.43 — Saboteurs & Lobby Bans

Why 1.0.43 matters after launch week

Waterpark Simulator by CayPlay Studios left Early Access with version 1.0 on July 31, 2026. About a week later, Steam news posted UPDATE 1.0.43 - Patch Notes and thanks (around August 6, 2026). The post mixes a community thank-you with a dense bugfix and quality-of-life list, then introduces the first major post-hotfix gameplay threat: the Saboteur bad-visitor trait. CayPlay also said they will try to ship roughly one update per week going forward (urgent issues aside) so launch-week cadence slows while the team rests. This page consolidates the official bullets only—no invented rates or hidden tables. Pair it with the Updates Hub, the Version 1.0 Overview, and the earlier Patch 1.0.30 Hotfixes stabilization window.

Bug fixes called out in 1.0.43

Multiplayer placement: Non-host players could fail to place blobs; that sync issue is fixed so co-op builders share the same placement tools again. Refresh lobby habits in Multiplayer Co-op.

Chlorine and throws: Holding multiple chlorine bottles no longer spams conflicting throw options—important when cleaning chemistry meets bag and item throws after the 1.0.30 PvP-throw rules.

Beach quests and pools: Floor tiles at the Beach entrance now count correctly for related quests. Some 3-star pools were missing a collider; that gap is closed. An Ocean Pool clipping issue was removed. Duck slide painting now persists instead of resetting, so Early Access cosmetic rewards stay painted after you leave the tool.

Improvements you will feel day to day

Performance and menus: The V-sync FPS cap behavior was improved. The main menu is less graphically demanding if left running for a long time—handy between co-op sessions.

Guest pressure and wellness: The percentage of smelly visitors increases when the park needs that pressure. The sauna gains a grace period before the next request after a successful one. Visitors can no longer drown in the last 30 minutes before closing—late-day lifeguard panic cools down, though sabotage and mess still matter. See Guest Sickness and Cleaning Loop when smell and puddles stack.

Tools and social: An in-game popup explains emotes. The golden hammer is now stronger than the regular hammer—pair with Tools and Equipment when you choose rebuild tools.

Multiplayer host control: Players can ban other players from their multiplayer lobby (valid for that lobby only, not a permanent account ban). General settings set on the second computer in multiplayer now persist between machines. Host options expand to include painting and buying from CayMart—see CayMart Shop and Multiplayer Co-op before you open a grief-prone public lobby.

New features: staff quits, Mafia pushback, Saboteurs

Staff can quit if bullied. When a player hammers, shoves, or otherwise bullies staff a lot in a short window, employees can resign. Quitting staff fire a notification, gain a red exclamation mark on their name, and highlight red. Treat this as a hard stop on “comedy abuse” that used to be free—hire replacements with Hiring Guide instead of manufacturing turnover.

Mafia fights back. During Mafia events, attackers can be answered. Mafia wave timing is also more random when you have offended them. Emergency borrowing still belongs in Money and Loans; punching the problem is riskier after 1.0.43.

Guests push back. Non-bad visitors have a low chance to push back if you attack or shove them for a long time. Random park violence now costs more than a laugh clip.

Saboteur bad visitors. The headline trait: Saboteurs enter holding a sledgehammer and will unplug your pool if you do not stop them in time. They sit beside bracelet cheaters and devil-icon troublemakers as a named threat—full intercept loops live in the new Saboteurs Guide. Gate discipline still starts in Tickets and Cheaters; late parks lean on Security and Mascots.

Practical checklist after installing 1.0.43

  1. Update Steam (or console) to 1.0.43 and skim the live Steam news post if wording differs slightly by platform.
  2. In co-op, confirm host CayMart / painting options, second-PC settings persistence, and whether you need lobby bans ready.
  3. Brief the lobby: no staff bullying—resignations are real now.
  4. Assign a Saboteur patrol near pool plugs and equipment rooms; bookmark Saboteurs.
  5. Expect more smelly visitors when cleanliness lags; keep mop and trash loops honest.
  6. Use the stronger golden hammer for rebuild bursts, not as an excuse to grief props in shared lobbies.
  7. Near closing time, remember drownings are suppressed in the last 30 minutes—still finish trash and saboteur watches.
  8. If Mafia waves feel spicier, stop attacking collectors and pay down leverage via Money and Loans.
  9. Re-check Beach entrance floor-tile quests if a marker looked stuck before this build.
  10. Return to the Updates Hub for Lazy River 1.1 preview timing versus live patches.

How this page ages

CayPlay warned that tiny urgent builds may ship without immediate notes and land in a later combined post. Treat 1.0.43 as the first post-launch feature patch that changes daily ops: saboteurs, staff resignation, lobby bans, and Mafia aggression. When Lazy River or the next numbered content drop arrives, keep this page as the reference for the early-August threat and host-tool set. Strategy pages absorb the habits; this page keeps the official bullet list honest.

Official discussion still concentrates on Steam and the Waterpark Simulator Discord. Publisher links sit on the Official Links Hub.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is new for guests in patch 1.0.43?

Saboteur bad visitors enter with a sledgehammer and try to unplug pools. Smelly visitor pressure can rise when needed, and non-bad guests may push back if attacked for a long time.

Can I ban players in multiplayer now?

Yes. Hosts can ban players from the current multiplayer lobby only. Painting and CayMart buying also joined host option controls, and second-computer general settings now persist.

Why did my staff suddenly quit?

Patch 1.0.43 lets staff resign if a player bullies them heavily in a short period. Quitting staff notify you and highlight red—hire replacements instead of repeating the abuse.

Do guests still drown right before closing?

No. Visitors can no longer drown during the last 30 minutes before the park closes, which reduces late-day lifeguard spikes.

Is the golden hammer actually better now?

Yes. Official notes state the golden hammer is more powerful than the regular hammer after 1.0.43.

Will CayPlay keep shipping four patches a week?

They said they will try to move toward about one update per week unless something urgent appears, after the dense launch-week hotfix train.
